What is Parmesan Cheese made out of?
Parmigiano-Reggiano or Parmesan is an Italian hard, granular cheese that is produced from cow’s milk and has aged 12–36 months. It is named after the producing areas, the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, the part of Bologna west of the Reno, and Modena; and the part of Mantua south of the Po.

Best served grated on pasta or as an appetizer. It is a popular cheese for snacking on its own or with crackers. It is especially flavourful in melted dishes such as soup and sauce recipes. A few dishes which use parmesan cheese are mashed potatoes, shepherd’s pie, macaroni and cheese, casseroles, etc.
